about us
Cal-Leather began making leather products in 1927 as "Star Glove & Leather" in Ventura, California. By the 1940's, the company was making jackets under the "Cal-Leather" label for motorcycle riders. Cal-Leather gained a reputation among riders as dependable apparel and was commissioned by the LAPD to develop and produce the official LAPD jacket for their motorcycle force. Other law enforcement agencies throughout the country followed suit, as did the outlaws they were going after.
Cal-Leather is proud to continue producing high quality All-American made motorcycle jackets, vests, & other leather products. Our customers enjoy and value the quality materials, workmanship and outstanding custom fit of our products.
Our vintage leather motorcycle jackets may be found with either our current Cal-Leather label or the earlier Star Glove & Leather label. Both lines are highly valued and sought after by discriminating collectors. Many of our jackets in the 50’s and 60’s were produced for private labels or law enforcement agencies and may not have a label. This has allowed other makers to try to claim our jackets as their own, but our quality craftsmanship and original styling distinguishes us from the rest.
